The straightforward version.

These terms apply to everything bought from this site, whether that is an original drawing, a print, or a commissioned portrait. By placing an order you agree to them.

The site is run by Hollie Phelan, an artist working in the UK. Anything you buy is sold by the studio directly, not through a third-party gallery.

Every original is a one-of-one drawing made by hand. Photographs are taken in daylight and colours may vary slightly depending on your screen.

Once an original is sold it is marked as sold on the site. If two people manage to order the same piece at the same moment, the first confirmed payment takes it and the second is refunded in full.

Prints are made to order in A5, A4 and A3, giclée printed on 250gsm matte cotton paper and signed in the margin. They are open editions, not limited runs.

Sizes are listed on each piece and on the prints and pricing page. Every print arrives framed, glazed and ready to hang — the frame is included in the price. Originals come in a gift box.

A commission begins with the enquiry form. Nothing is charged until the brief, size, price and deadline have been agreed by email and a deposit has been paid.

Commissions are drawn from the photographs you send. The more detail and light in the reference, the closer the drawing can be to the likeness — but a hand-drawn portrait is an interpretation, not a photograph.

Deposits hold a slot in the studio diary and are non-refundable once work has started. The balance falls due before dispatch.

All prices are shown in GBP and include any applicable tax. Payment is taken securely by card through the checkout before an order is dispatched or a commission slot is booked.

Prices may change over time, but the price confirmed at checkout is the price you pay.

Current postage rates and estimated timescales are listed on the prints and pricing page. Prints are usually dispatched within three to five working days; originals are sent insured and signed-for.

If a parcel is delayed, damaged or lost in transit, tell the studio and it will be sorted out — a replacement print or a refund where a piece cannot be replaced.

Prints can be returned within 14 days of delivery if they arrive damaged or simply are not right. Contact the studio first, then send them back in their original packaging; the refund is issued once they arrive safely.

Originals and commissioned portraits are made and sold as one-off works and cannot be returned, except where a piece arrives damaged or is not what was agreed.

Copyright in every drawing, print and commission stays with Hollie Phelan. Buying a piece buys the physical work, not the right to reproduce it.

Please do not copy, print, publish or resell images of the work commercially without permission. Sharing a photograph of a piece you own on social media, with credit, is always welcome.

The artwork, photographs, text and design on this site belong to the studio. Please do not scrape, reproduce or republish them.

The studio may update these terms from time to time; the version published here is the one that applies.

If an order, print or commission is not what you expected, send a note through the commission form with your order details and it will be answered personally, usually within a couple of days.
