The Iconic Series
Screen icons and comic heroes, worked up in charcoal and saturated pencil. Familiar faces, drawn to find the person sitting underneath the performance.
Companion Studies
Dogs, a rabbit and one very solemn puppy. Soft fur, wet noses and the particular expression a pet gives the person holding the camera.

Priced so the work can actually leave the studio.
Every print is giclée on heavyweight matte paper, open edition, signed in pencil on the border, and comes framed and ready to hang. Originals are one of one, signed and dated on the reverse, and arrive in a gift box — once a piece sells it does not come back.

About the artist
I draw people and animals until they look back.
I'm Hollie Phelan, a self-taught portrait artist working in charcoal, graphite and coloured pencil. I started drawing pets for friends and family, and it turned into the thing I do every evening.
Most of this work is made on warm toned paper, which lets me leave the light alone and keep the darks honest. No digital smoothing — if a mark is on the sheet, it stays there.

Commission work
Have someone drawn.
Pets, people, or a character that means something to you. Commissions start at £120 for a single subject on A4, and I take on a small number each month so nothing is rushed.

You send a photograph
One clear photo in daylight, taken at eye level. Phone photos are fine — most commissions start from one.

I sketch and check in
You get a photo of the rough before I commit to the final paper, so nothing is a surprise.

Two to three weeks later
The finished drawing arrives mounted, signed, and wrapped in tissue and board.
